UNP Co Op 46920 Blaina004

The community of Blaina received a warm welcome back into their Co-op today (18 July), as the store relaunched following an eight-week programme of work and improvements.

The Blaina store is actually the second Co-op in the area this month to relaunch following major investment, following the re-opening of the convenience retailer’s Usk store earlier in July.

The High Street store, which supports 15 jobs, has been transformed with a fresh new look, and includes an enhanced range of fresh, healthy products, alongside a bakery, hot food and the addition of Costa Coffee Express machine.

The new Co-op is also a hub for Co-op’s online grocery delivery, with orders picked fresh in the store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community.

New refrigeration will not only enhance the fresh, chilled and frozen range, but also support Co-op’s work to further cut its carbon footprint globally. Self-service tills have also now been added for further ease and convenience, particularly at busier times.

Joseph Morris, Co-op’s area operations manager, said: “The whole team is delighted to invest in the town’s Co-op in the High Street. It’s been totally transformed with a fresh and modern look, and we’re confident it will significantly enhance the customer shopping experience.”

Blaina’s new Co-op opens between 7am-10pm daily.
