Morrisons has doubled referral bonuses and introduced a £2,000 switching incentive for franchisees as it seeks to expand its independent estate.
The supermarket has launched ‘Boosted Recruitment Incentives’, which doubles the current ‘Refer a Friend’ incentive from £1,000 to £2,000. It has also introduced a ‘Switching Incentive’, which offers franchisees operating stores under other symbol groups the chance to receive £2,000 if they transfer those sites to Morrisons Daily.
Morrisons has also launched new ‘Hot Weather Club’, a weather-triggered supply scheme that automatically allocates essential water and ice lines to registered stores when local temperatures hit 23°C or above, helping to guarantee stock availability.
The supermarket announced the new incentives today, having revealed them to franchisees at a conference in May. The annual franchise conference at its Hilmore House head office included a presentation by CEO Rami Baitiéh, underlining a focus on mutual growth.
Morrisons wholesale director Paul Dobson said: “Our franchise partners are the engine for the future growth for Morrisons Daily and this conference was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our shared successes.
“We are entirely committed to supporting their businesses by reducing operational costs and making the very best of Morrisons – from our skilled teams to innovations like our Hot Weather Club – fully available to them.”
Morrisons has over 1,700 convenience stores, including 700 run by franchisees.
