Officers in Chelmsford have secured a banning order against a prolific shoplifter
Claire Wood, 52, has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning her from all Marks and Spencer, Co-Op and Tesco stores in the city for two years.
She has also been barred from going to the TSB bank in the High Street. The move follows several incidents in the city.
Sergeant Graham Thomas, from the Chelmsford Town Centre Team which sits inside the Neighborhood Policing Team, said: “I’m pleased we’ve been able to successfully obtain this order against Wood.
“She’s been responsible for multiple incidents over a sustained period of time, despite attempts by numerous services to provide support.
“We’ll always work to protect our hardworking businesses and their staff. If Wood breaches this CBO then she could face the prospect of prison.”
