Summit Foods is recalling a range of four specific filled wraps in England, Scotland and Wales, because of possible contamination with E.coli (STEC).
These are the Snacksters Chicken Fajita Wrap and Hoi Sin Wrap, its East Street Deli Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap and the Target a Snack Chicken Fajita Wrap. The recall spans all products in these ranges with best before dates before 5 September.
Symptoms caused by STEC can include severe diarrhoea, abdominal pain and occasionally haemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a serious condition that can lead to kidney failure and can be fatal.
Anyone experiencing these symptoms should stay away from work, school or nursery until they’ve stopped having them for at least 48 hours, to avoid passing it on to others.
Summit Foods is recalling the above products and POS notices will be displayed in all stores that are selling them and/or on their website.
These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product and can be downloaded here.
Anyone who has purchased the products is advised not to consume it. Instead, they should dispose of the product and provide proof of purchase at sales@summitfoods.co.uk, stating when and where it was purchased, for a refund.a\
