World of Sweets is encouraging convenience retailers to stock up on two new kids’ novelty launches.
The confectionery distributor, importer and wholesaler has expanded its novelty range with additions from two key brands - Crazy Candy Factory and Barratt.
It predicts summer is going to be a busy sales period, with kids off school looking for pocket money buys, so retailers are encouraged to “take advantage of the demand and drive sales by stocking up early and ensuring they have a wide range of novelty sweets,” it says.
Crazy Candy Factory is one of the leading novelty brands in the kids’ confectionery category, known for its eye-catching designs and delicious sweets with a play element. A new launch from the brand is Paint Dripz, which includes blue razz flavoured brush-shaped lollipops with matching liquid candy bucket of ‘paint’. An affordable RRP of just £1.29 makes the product appealing to younger customers.
The brand is also listing the Dip n Dunk 3-in-1 fruity lollipop, with both sour sherbet and sour liquid candy dips. It has a retail price of £1 and comes in three flavour combinations.
Meanwhile, Barratt has also welcomed some innovative products to its selection, with a range of candy flosses expected to be a hit. All are available in the classic Barratt flavourings, but have a unique twist.
For example, the Wham candy floss has popping candy scattered throughout, while Flumps has crunchy, dehydrated mallows hidden within a vanilla floss. Customers can also find popping candy sprinkled in lemon and strawberry floss when eating the Dib Dab floss, and the Fruit Salad candy floss contains a mix of raspberry and pineapple flavoured floss.
The Wham and Fruit Salad flosses come in 20g cups at £1, while the Dib Dab and Flumps versions can be bought in 50g tubs for £2.
Kathryn Hague, head of marketing at World of Sweets, said: “We’re very excited about these new kids’ launches. Novelty sweets are very popular in convenience, and they’re likely to be even more in demand once schools break up for summer holidays.
“Kids wanting to treat themselves with their pocket money are going to be on the lookout for affordable, fun sweets that also have a play element such as different candy sprays, food-shaped sweets, and sour dip and lick lollies.
“We’re encouraging retailers wanting to drive sales to stock up on a variety of different kids’ novelty products to provide plenty of choice and encourage customers to return.”
