Co-op launched its newest offering today (13 June) in Bapchild, near Sittingbourne, and is already welcoming customers into the purpose-built convenience store.
The premises is located in the new Spring Acres residential development and is to focus on being a community hub and focal point at the heart of local life.
Bapchild’s new Co-op opens between 6am-10pm daily, and includes a range of added services including an InPost parcel locker, Costa Coffee Express Machine, hot food, payment services via PayPoint and the online home delivery of groceries through Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo.
These added services sit alongside an extensive range of fresh and chilled produce, in-store bakery, food-to-go and meal deals.
Paul Hoskins, Co-op area operations manager, said of the new store: “The whole team’s delighted to have the opportunity to launch Co-op’s newest store. We’re proud to become part of the local community, and we are committed to ensuring that the store is a community hub and part of local life. The store looks great and has a range of added services.”
Spring Acres is a thriving new community of mainly affordable homes, thanks to a partnership between Hyde and Chartway Group. Jaime Buckley, Hyde’s development director, added: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Co-op to the thriving Spring Acres community. As a focal point to the development, we hope Co-op’s successful new store will be well supported by our residents and the wider community.”
