Woodhall Spa Food Store

£480k has been spent refurbishing the Woodhall Spa Food Store both inside and out.

Customers are enjoying an expanded product range and upgraded shop layout at Lincolnshire Co-op’s Woodhall Spa Food Store, as part of a large refurbishment.

A huge £480k investment has modernised the store and created a wider choice of products and services for customers including Red Bull, frozen Coca-Cola, Cook frozen meals and Squashies Drumstick Thickshake machines. An InPost locker has also been installed inside.

Customers can continue to access pre-existing services, such as a Costa Express machine, food-to-go, fresh fruit and vegetables, and chilled wines and beers.

Andrew Atkin, store manager, said: “Our customers have been blown away by the transformation of our store - we’ve had fantastic feedback so far, especially about the Drumstick Squashies Thickshake machine.

“The team is thrilled with the results of the refresh as it enhances both how we serve our local community and our customers shopping experiences with us.”

The Society offers a Love Local range that supports local business, featuring suppliers like Coastal Distillery from Mablethorpe and Mountain’s Boston Sausages.

A new Your Community Shop fascia has been installed as well as a new community unit inside, where customers can donate essential supplies to the Woodhall Spa and Kirkby on Bain Food Bank, and recycle soft plastics and batteries.

Energy efficient solutions including new CO2 refrigeration, air conditioning and LED lighting have also been introduced.

Since September 2024, over £8m has been invested into 49 outlets across food, funeral, pharmacy, travel and post offices, as part of the co-operative’s cyclical refresh programme.

This programme will see work take place at different trading outlets every year, with approximately £4m being invested annually.

Chris Glover, Lincolnshire Co-op senior project manager, said: “We’re proud to be investing in our outlets, as this work ensures that we’re able to deliver high quality services, as well as meeting the needs of our members and customers.”
