Organic food supplier Biona has announced the launch of several bakery product additions to its portfolio, including a new organic sliced bread as well as organic super seed toasties, all of which are available from September onwards.
The new sliced bread range ”meets consumers’ needs for a healthy, natural organic bread in a familiar and easy to use format,” Biona said, and consists of a bakehouse white sliced loaf and a bakehouse wholemeal sliced loaf, both with an RRP of £3.19. There will also be a bakehouse protein sliced loaf with an RRP of £3.79.
All three new loaves have natural but short ingredient lists, unlike many larger sliced loaf brands on the market, as well as artisanal texture and flavour through their soft sourdough.
As well as this, because of their natural ingredient lists, all three loaves offer more than triple the life of other sliced breads on the market, which will greatly reduce wastage.
Further addition
A further addition to Biona’s growing bakery range is the new organic Super Seed Toasties, made from 23% super seeds including flaxseeds, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, and are perfect for breakfast, lunch or to be consumed on the go. Naturally high in fibre, a source of protein and containing healthy fats, the new Super Seed Toasties are nutrient dense and come in packs of four with an RRP of £3.99.
Gemma Williams, head of marketing at Biona’s parent company, Windmill Organics, said: “The bakery category is changing with many people now looking for healthier, clean-label options to consume at the start of the day. So, it’s no surprise Biona’s bakery range is expanding accordingly.
“We’re confident these latest additions will be well received. Not only does our new sliced bread range offer great taste and healthy credentials, but all three loaves have a longer shelf life than competitors, which reduces waste and allows more flexibility within stores and at home.”
