Pepsi Max has introduced footballer Lauren James as its new ambassador, joining former teammate and Lioness captain Leah Williamson.
The partnership will see the professional footballers unite to spotlight the “unmatched thrill and passion” of the game, ahead of the UEFA Women’s Euros this summer.
They are set to be front and centre in Pepsi Max’s upcoming football campaign alongside footballers Alexia Putellas, Caroline Graham Hansen and Farah Jefry, said the brand.
Football fans can get their hands on limited-edition Pepsi Max cans featuring the faces of their favourite players in stores across the country.
To celebrate the new members of the Pepsi Max squad, “one-of-a-kind” murals have been created to pay homage to each of the players.
James’ and Williamson’s faces have taken over London skylines in Chelsea and Holloway Road, each design bursting with the passion, energy and unstoppable nature of each athlete.
The new signings come as the brand continues to invest and support the future of UK Women’s football by powering the passion of players and fans.
Commenting on the new partnership, James said: “I’m incredibly passionate about the continued growth of women’s football, and it’s a real honour to be partnering with Pepsi Max who clearly share that vision.
”We’ve seen so much positive momentum recently, and it’s important we keep pushing forward, increasing visibility, and making sure the women’s game reaches its full potential.”
Steven Hind, chief marketing officer Beverages UK&I at Pepsi Max commented: “For decades, Pepsi MAX has redefined football culture. Now, we’re thrilled to be supporting the amazing rise of women’s football right here in the UK! We’re shining a light on some incredible new ambassadors and getting everyone even closer to the excitement of the women’s game – welcoming a whole new generation of fans along the way.”
