Co-op relaunched three further stores in the last week following major makeovers to transform the customer experience.

Stores in Brighton’s Whitehawk Road, Portree’s Bank Street (above) and Bristol’s Broomhill Road all re-opened after undergoing an extensive investment programme. Earlier this year Co-op revealed that around 80 of its existing stores would undertake major refurbishment.

The stores all include a focus on fresh and healthy produce, food-to-go and meal deals, as well as Fairtrade products, pizzas, flowers ready meals, award winning wines and every day essentials.

New refrigeration supports Co-op’s work to continue to cut its carbon footprint, and soft plastic recycling is also available, enabling shoppers to return harder to recycle materials such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.

Joan Harkiss, Co-op’s Portree store Manager – who has worked for the Co-op for more than 35 years, said: “The store looks fantastic, transformed with a bright and fresh new look. We pride ourselves on being able to deliver the quality, choice and value which can be enjoyed by everyone, and really look forward to welcoming our members and customers back.”
