UK plant-based food brand Gosh! has announced a packaging development, featuring a plant points indicator on each of its core products.
The new design is being rolled out across all five of its core products, including the popular Moroccan Falafel, Mediterranean Falafel and Sweet Potato Pakora lines.
Each product contains a minimum of six plant points by incorporating a mix of vegetables, legumes, grains, seeds, herbs and spices, ensuring that the meals help consumers meet their goal of 30 different plants a week.
To reinforce the brand’s 100% natural credentials and delicious flavour, new illustrations have also been added to the packaging.
While consumers have long been encouraged to eat their five-a-day, Gosh! is helping to pioneer a more holistic approach with plant points - the latest guideline that encourages people to eat at least 30 different plant foods per week for optimal
Each plant point represents one portion of fruit, vegetables, whole grains, legumes or seeds, promoting a more diverse and nutrient-rich diet. The concept is gaining momentum as the industry moves beyond the five-a-day guideline, ensuring consumers get a broader spectrum of essential nutrients to support gut health, overall well-being and long-term vitality.
Caroline Hughes, managing director, said: “We believe eating more plants should be simple, delicious and make you feel good. Last year alone, we helped the nation eat 30 million plant points, positively impacting healthier diets, and with our new redesign, we’ve made tracking it easier than ever.”
