Snack brand Takis has rolled out a four‑city Freshers’ campaign designed to drive discovery across the full flavour range and reinforce the brand’s ‘all intense, not all spicy’ message.
Live now and running until 9 October, the campaign combines two “complementary activation formats” created to reach students on campus or in the heart of high‑footfall city locations. The campus takeovers are designed to “deliver sustained engagement, encourage repeat interaction and create a high‑visibility brand presence at the start of term,” Takis said.
The brand will take over major university campuses with the Takis Arcade, a high‑energy, dwell‑time‑driving experience featuring a Takis Arcade Machine with 100+ playable games.
Then, Takis will shift into “high‑reach mode” with a series of guerilla sampling bursts across Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham and London. Brand ambassadors will distribute Takis in key student movement corridors - such as Manchester’s Oxford Road - during peak footfall periods to maximise reach and drive trial.
Campus experience
This city‑centre activity is designed to complement the campus experience, ensuring Takis reaches students who engage directly with the Arcade as well as those moving through the wider city environment.
By pairing immersive campus engagement with high‑volume city sampling, and working with carefully selected social media influencers, Takis aims to recruit new consumers and encourage discovery across the full flavour range. It added that it expects the Freshers’ 2026 programme to deliver significant trial, strong social amplification and a high‑energy brand presence across all four cities as students begin the new academic year.
