The Cumberland Building Society has announced that it has expanded its commercial offering
The Cumberland Building Society has announced that it has expanded its commercial offering to cater to food and drink retailers, wholesalers, processors and manufacturers across the North of England and Scotland.
With more than 20 years of experience in supporting businesses in hospitality, it says is now expanding its operations to serve convenience stores, bakeries, farm shops, independent grocers and specialist retailers such as organic food shops and greengrocers.
With a head office in Carlisle, the building society provides mortgages, current accounts, and business savings accounts to these new sectors. 2025 also marks The Cumberland’s 175th anniversary. The new service will see businesses across The Cumberland’s new commercial sectors provided with a relationship manager, who will “work proactively to understand their needs with a view to help during any situation, whether it be good or bad,” it said.
Scott McKerracher (pictured), head of commercial, said: “We believe in responsible banking that puts people first. iIt’s great that we can now roll this out to food and drink retailers, wholesalers, processors and manufacturers. It’s a natural progression for us to expand into different sectors, enabling us to extend our Kinder Banking approach to a wider range of businesses.”
