Sir Anwar2

Bestway founder Sir Anwar Pervez OBE HPk had tea with Their Majesties in the royal box at the Royal Ascot races on 20 June, as part of his 90th birthday celebrations.

The invitation highlighted the King’s deep appreciation for Sir Anwar’s ”significant contribution” to British society over his 60-year career, said Bestway.

Every year the wholesaler hosts its charity race day at the Royal Ascot and this year’s main beneficiary charity was the British Asian Trust (BAT).

BAT was founded in 2007 by the King. The diaspora-led charity delivers high-quality programmes in South Asia and champions the use of “social finance products to drive positive change across the region”. It seeks to make South Asia free from poverty by unlocking the potential of disadvantaged people.

Other celebrations for Sir Anwar’s 90th birthday saw current and former members of Parliament gather in the House of Commons.

2025 also marks Bestway’s 50th anniversary. To celebrate, the wholesaler is hosting a suite of campaigns all year to thank retailers for their continued support and loyalty.
