Staffordshire Police have issued an appeal for any information after a shocking store raid that took place in a Co-op in Streetly, near Sutton Coldfield earlier this month.

They were called to the store in the early hours of 1 June, after three men with metal bars forced their way in. “We are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary at a shop in the south of the county,” they said.

A member of security staff at the Thornhill Road store was pushed to the floor before the men tried, unsuccessfully, to open a safe. They then left the scene empty handed in a dark-coloured car.

The suspects are described as three young men wearing dark tracksuits, masks and gloves. Thankfully, the security guard was not injured.

Anyone with any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from the area of the time is asked to contact the force. You can call 101, quoting incident 133 of 1 June, or use LiveChat on its website.
