North Weald’s Co-op relaunches today (12 September) following a seven-week programme of works and improvements.
The High Road store welcomed members and customers back into their new-look Co-op as it re-opened to serve the community.
The store - which supports 11 local jobs and currently has vacancies for more retail positions – has been transformed’, including new refrigeration throughout, which increases the fresh, chilled and frozen range, and also supports Co-op’s work to further cut its carbon footprint.
Sarah Newens and Juliet Mulholland of Co-op’s National Members Council joined member activator, Jack Williams, store manager John Barker and the store team in relaunching the store for the community.
The new-look store has a focus on food-to-go and meal deals; Fairtrade products, pizzas, flowers; ready meals, award winning beers and wines and, everyday essentials.
Mariam Hatton, Co-op’s area operations Manager, said: “The whole team is delighted to have had the opportunity to invest in our North Weald store. We have had a great response - the store’s been transformed with a great new look. We’re proud to be part of local community life. We’re here to contribute to local life and conveniently serve and support North Weald.”
