2. NIRVANA-IPA 500ML BOTTLES-THREE-GREEN BACKGROUND-LANDSCAPE

No and low brewer Nirvana has launched its best-selling IPA (0.5 ABV) in a larger format.

The new 500ml bottle (RRP: £2.80) is part of the brewery’s ‘long pour’ strategy ensuring drinkers can enjoy no and low beers in the same way they do full-strength options, it said.

The IPA’s recipe has also subtly tweaked to deliver “more body, flavour and head retention”.

This was achieved by switching “both the malts to Vienna and Munich” and “the hops to Mosaic, Nectaron, and Simcoe”, while also changing the beer’s yeast, said Nirvana.

While still retaining the qualities that have made IPA its best-seller, Nirvana believes the new brew is “better balanced and bolder than its predecessor”.

The new recipe offered a “citrusy and bold” taste, with notes of “pine, stone fruits and grapefruit leading to a zesty and moreish finish”, described head brewer James Rabagliati.

“No-Low beers are predominantly in smaller-sized cans or bottles, but we know that these drinkers often want a more satisfying serve - whether that’s a pint on draught when out, or pouring a beer at home,” said Becky Kean, founder and brand ambassador .

“There’s also a strong visual element that matters to No-Low drinkers - being seen with a ‘normal’-sized serve! So, we want to normalise long-pour in this category - it’s also a commercially attractive strategy for stockists in any trade sector.”

The IPA remains available in 300ml bottles and keg.
