Tavern Mead PR 2

Hive Mind’s new Tavern Mead has an 8% abv and is made entirely from honey.

This April will see Hive Mind Mead unveil the latest addition to its range: Tavern Mead, crafted to “showcase one of the world’s oldest drinks in its truest form,” it said.

Designed as a more accessible expression of traditional mead, Tavern Mead offers a “smooth, balanced and easy-drinking profile, while retaining the depth and character that comes from fermenting entirely from honey.”

“Tavern Mead was created to offer something authentic at an accessible price point,” said co-founder, Kit Newell. “We wanted to give retailers a genuine mead made properly, using real ingredients, that aligns with the values many of them already champion, whilst keeping the price accessible so it feels easy to pick up and enjoy.

“Producing mead from 100% honey at scale is relatively uncommon due to the cost of raw materials, but we believe it’s essential to achieving the depth, character and authenticity that defines real mead.”

Bottled at a considered 8% ABV, Tavern Mead has been developed to be both approachable and versatile, appealing to new drinkers, whilst still delivering an honest expression of honey wine.

Tavern Mead has been created with farm shops, food halls, off-licences and other venues in mind - retail environments where provenance, quality ingredients and storytelling are all key ingredients.

Tavern Mead is available through distributors including Craft Drinks Co, Inn Express and Diverse Fine Foods with an RRP of £15 per 750ml bottle.
